Nice to meet you
I consider myself lucky to have discovered what I'm passionate about at a young age. It gave me the opportunity to turn my football and cooking into successful and fulfilling careers.
Today, still passionately involved in these fun and inspiring industries, I'm excited to be offering support and services to assist people of all ages and professions to unlock their full potential and achieve the personal, sporting or professional goals they've set themselves.
You can read about the journeys that lead me to football and cooking at the bottom of this page.
I love what I do. Let me share my enthusiasm with you.
Born in Hobart, I started playing at the age of 6 for my school team Cambridge United. My love for the round ball game was instant and although my parents encouraged me to play and enjoy a wide variety of sports, it was football that I found impossible to give away.
In the year 2000 my family relocated to Queenslands' Sunshine Coast. The change of scenery brought with it an exciting new lifestyle and created fresh opportunities for me on the football field.
In fact, it was just three-years later that I would first find myself in goals following the departure of my teams regular shot stopper.
Feeling instantly at home I joined the Goalkeeping Australia Academy to sharpen my skills and saw my game improve rapidly under their expert coaching and guidance.
Things moved very quickly from that point.
A successful trial with the Australian Institute of Sport saw me move to Canberra the day after my High School graduation to begin my scholarship within their full time program.
A debut for the U20 National Team at the 2007 Youth Olympics in Sydney helped put me on a fast-tracked pathway to professional football, but it wasn't until 2009 that it was finally realised, signing with newly formed Gold Coast United.
My career from that point:
2001 - 2006 Maroochydore FC
2007 Australian Institute of Sport
2007 Australia U20
2008 Sunshine Coast Fire FC
2009 Brisbane Strikers FC
2009 - 2012 Gold Coast United
2012 Australia U23
2012 - 2014 Western Sydney Wanderers
2014 - 2015 Sun Pegasus (Hong Kong)
2015 - 2016 Perth Glory
2016 - 2018 Western Sydney Wanderers
2018 Chennai City FC (India)
2019 - Present Green Gully SC
I was 8 when I decided to be a chef.
Fueled initially by the discovery that when hungry, the fastest way to get food in my mouth was to put it there myself, cooking soon became a creative outlet and my form of relaxation.
At school, I balanced food science and nutrition studies with industry employment, before making the tough decision in 2006 to put my culinary dreams on ice to pursue a big break in my football career.
It proved a wise decision (signing with Gold Coast United in 2009), however after five years of professional football I felt motivated to reconnect with my passion for cooking, opening 'Jerrad's Kitchen' for the very first time in 2014.
Still operating today, Jerrad's Kitchen has seen me personally visit the homes of families across Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia to turn their kitchen into mine for an unforgettable night of good food and company.
In 2019, with more than a decade of industry experience accumulated, I decided it was time to complete my formal training and enrolled at Melbourne Polytechnic.
I completed their full-time program in November, graduating with a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
My focus is now on fine tuning my vision and philosophy for food with the intention of opening up my first dining location in the years to come. So be sure to watch this space.
